FIELD NOTES + INSIDER TIPS
Bring your friends, your hot cocoa, and your snow ball rolling skills. This massive snow park is a kid’s (and adult kids’!) perfect winter playground. Sledding galore, tubing, snow ball fights, building and dressing snowpeople, and seriously cool igloo fort creations. Bundle up because it is hard to leave.
If the wind is high or you’re ready for a new set of hills before calling it a day, stop back at Snow Bunny Snow Park just six minutes down the road on the way back toward the cabin. It is smaller but steeper, and therefore usually a bit more crowded on winter weekends. Sleds, tubes, and people of all ages can be found here—all with big belly laughs as they slide fast and sometimes crash land in fresh powder!
Once your legs are tired, you’ve snapped a hundred pics and worked up an appetite, convince your group to head back to Mt. Hood Alpine Chalet, incentivizing everyone with a stop on the way at Skyway Bar & Grill to warm up with comfort foods and craft cocktails. Believe us, the mac is worth the hype.
